Hello folks!

In a few short weeks we will be participating in a push-up contest that will raise over $1,000,000 to end child sex slavery. You’re probably wondering how the heck we are going to do that? Below is all the details. In the mean time, I would like to share some helpful tips on how to increase your push-up performance from what I have discovered has worked!

 

 

Here is a list of 10, hopefully!

 

10. Set an unrealistic goal. Yet at the same time, believe you can do it.  There are children going thru unspeakable things and that should inspire you to either do as many push-ups as possible or to donate as much money as possible to someone who is doing the push-ups.  It’s really not about us, this is to make a huge difference in the lives of others. If one of our own children were sold into child sex slavery I would do whatever it took to get them out of it. My thought process is and should be that I am willing to do whatever it takes to save all children from this because not a single one of them deserves it.

9. Block out the thoughts of “I’m tired” or “I don’t like doing push-ups” or “my contribution doesn’t matter” or “I’m not capable.” Refuse to allow any negative thoughts to camp out in your mind. That is an impostor because you have greatness within you. One way to do this is by listening to plenty of positive audios, like the ones on Rascal Radio.
Anyone who has a working body can do 1-5 push-ups their first try,  can work up to more and that small contribution multiplied within a huge community of many doing a little makes a gigantic difference and will inspire somebody else!

8. Stretch often and thoroughly. You’re literally breaking down muscle tissue and it’s important to give them the love they so much need. You’ll be able to do more by stretching before,  and you’ll be able to recover quicker by stretching after or at the end of the day. For a visual of stretches, here is a great source:

7. Eat properly. Drink lots of water. It’s important to refuel your body and to give it as much protein to repair the broken muscle tissue.  Chris Swanson, who organized the push-up contest, said that after a body building exercise he immediately drinks a glass of chocolate milk for the sugars and eats a bowl of oatmeal for the protein, fiber, carbs and lots of nutrients.

6. Do push-ups in random places, as often as possible. Do as many as you can, then rest. Humble yourself to withstand embarrassment long enough to get up, catch your breath, and then explain your purpose and gain support of those around you.

5. While doing push-ups pay attention to the placement of your hands. Starting with your hands parallel to your shoulders, then working them outward and then working them inward you will be working different muscle groups and preventing as much initial fatigue, thus increasing your overall max.

4. Remember to breathe.
You breathe in – going DOWN, breathe out – coming UP by counting out loud.

3. While training, be sure to confuse your muscles.  Chris Swanson explains that in details here: 

My personal experience was that I was only able to do about 20 push-ups at once. I worked up to being able to do about 30 at once. Then I began to do 25 push-ups, 10 times a day. I would do this for a couple of days, rest for a couple of days and then increase the push-ups. I got up to 47 push-ups 10 times a day and then saw this video by Chris. I wasn’t anywhere near my goal a month out. So I knew I needed to do something different in order to reach my goal. I started doing incline push-ups, decline push-ups, fewer sets of more reps and mixing things up to confuse my muscles. So be consistent in your training, but find ways to switch it up.

2. Push yourself harder, surround yourself with those who challenge you and know that at the end of the day on October 14th, 2017 – your contribution mattered. No matter how big or how small it was, what mattered was that you gave it your best. You have that to be proud of. If you start training today and do one more push up or gain one more sponsor, that treasure is stored up in Heaven and it’s possible that seed you’re planting will be watered and grow into something incredibly amazing like a young child being freed from torturous acts and a bad guy being arrested and changing his ways or a person you know being encouraged to finally have a way to make a difference. WE are all in this together and what you are able to offer is priceless.

1. Visualize how many push-ups you plan to do. The book “Pyscho Cybernetics” by Maxwell Maltz shared an experiment from a basketball team where they split the team into 3 groups. One group practiced shooting free throws, one group visualized shooting free throws, and one group did nothing. The first two groups had almost identical desirable results. The third group showed very little results. What the mind imagines cannot discern whether it is real or made up, so visualizing in your mind doing a number outside of your comfort zone basically tricks your mind into believing you can do that many, and so all the points leading up to this hopefully helped your body be capable of doing so. If you can complete this list, you will certainly exceed your goal and make a huge difference in this dark world. Shine your light!

Operation Underground Railroad

Since being founded in December of 2013, Operation Underground Railroad has gathered the world’s experts in extraction operations and in anti-child trafficking efforts to bring an end to child slavery. O.U.R.’s Underground Jump Team consists of former CIA, Navy SEALs, and Special Ops operatives that lead coordinated identification and extraction efforts. These operations are always in conjunction with law enforcement throughout the world.

Once victims are rescued, a comprehensive process involving justice for the perpetrators and recovery and rehabilitation for the survivors begins.

EMMANUEL’S STORY (O.U.R. rescued Emmanuel* from an illegal orphanage in Haiti in 2014):

Only 3 years old, Emmanuel could have been sold to traffickers and forced into the illegal sex trade. When the undercover rescue team arrived, the abusive ringleader told them: “These kids are all for sale.” Emmanuel’s story ended well. O.U.R. rescued him. “I think he knew who we were,” O.U.R. leader Tim Ballard says. “Emmanuel jumped into my lap…It was his ride to freedom, and he was no longer a slave.”

How Operation Underground Railroad frees child slaves: 

Their 3-step process was designed by covert military, intelligence, and law enforcement operators.

  1. Strategy
    • Research
    • Coordination with local authorities
    • Planning for the safety and legality of the operation
    • Finding safe, legal, and sustainable care for the children
  2. Action
    • Undercover operation led by trained experienced Jump Team
    • Safe rescue of the children
    • Arrest of perpetrators in conjunction with local law enforcement
  3. Follow-up
    • Transition of children to long term care
    • Monitor judicial case against the suspected traffickers
    • Train local law enforcement for future rescue operations

O.U.R. Life on Life Push-up Contest

In order to raise money for Operation Underground Railroad, Life has decided to launch another push-up contest that will take place on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at the Life University Fall Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. Here are a few important details you should know prior to the event…

Push-up Contest Participants:

As the title suggests, the upcoming Push-up Contest is just that–a contest! Not only will everyone have the opportunity to contribute, but there will also be trophies awarded with on-stage recognition for the male and female winners in each category, as well as a grand prize of an all-expense-paid mission trip with Chris Swanson that will take place in 2018.

  1. First, each interested participant is required to register for the contest prior to the convention. You can register by logging into your Life Account > Push-up Contest Registration on the left side of the main landing page. Registration closes at midnight on Thursday, October 12th and there will be no on-site registration. Don’t wait, register today!
  2. Second, download and print the 2017 Pledge Form. You can download the Pledge Form by logging into your Life Account > My Business > My Forms > Enrollment > 2017 Life on Life Push-up Contest – Pledge Form (located at the top of the page)
    • Before arriving to the event, make a copy of your Pledge Form (for your records). You will be required to turn in a copy the day of the contest. If you do not have a Pledge Form, you will not be eligible to participate.
    • Each donor has the option to decide how much money they want to pledge per push-up, and then each participant will go back after the event is over to collect the donations based on how many push-ups were successfully completed.
    • You will also have the opportunity to turn in pledge money the day of the contest. If you decide to do this, please put the money in a sealed envelope labeled with your full name and Life # and attach it to your pledge form. Be sure to include the total money received on the yellow line item near the top of the form.
  3. The contest will take place in a predetermined area of the Tool Room on Saturday, October 14th with banners directing you where to go. Your team leader at the Coordinator level will have a designated time slot that they will communicate to you prior to the event.
  4. Only Life Members that are present at the convention are eligible to win any of the prizes; but anyone can donate and be a part of the cause!
    • These are the categories that will make up the contest:
      • Who raised the most money?
        • Each dollar raised is one point.
      • Who completed the most push-ups?
        • Each push-up completed is one point.
      • The mission trip winners will be the man and woman with the highest cumulative total points in both categories.

Handling Donations:

As is also normal with any charitable project, many prospective contributors may prefer to simply make a one-time donation to the Operation Underground Railroad Life on Life Initiative. Donations can be submitted in any of the following ways:

  1. If the donor wants to donate with either a Credit or Debit Card, or through ACH from their bank account, they may do so at www.youcaring.com/OURLifeonLife anytime between July 29th, 2017 and December 1st, 2017.
  2. If the donor prefers to donate with a Check or a Money Order, they may write it out to AGO (All Grace Outreach) and write “OUR Life on Life” in the Memo area. Checks and Money Orders should then be mailed to:
    • All Grace Outreach, 200 Commonwealth Court, Cary, NC 27511
  3. If the donor wishes to give cash, the push-up contest participant can collect the donor’s money and turn it in with their pledge form the day of the event.
    • There will also be a “General Donations table” for anyone not competing but wanting to make a cash or check donation during the push-up contest at the convention.
  4. Once the Life University convention weekend has concluded, all participants should go back to their donor’s and collect their pledge money. They should then submit the donations using one of the methods previously mentioned by December 1st, 2017.
    • Mission Trip winners announced at the convention are required to have all of their pledge money turned in by the due date or they will forfeit their win.
      • Those participants who are seriously competing to win the mission trip should have a valid US passport (or should be in the process of applying for one) immediately following the convention.

Whether you can raise $1 or $10,000, you can make a difference for these poor, defenseless children. Will you join us?

Life: Setting People Free

Understand Where You’re At To Be Able To Get Where You Want To Go!

The Financial Matrix graph displays the four ways people can respond to the Defensive and Offensive principles needed for financial success. Strangely, most people, through a combination of ignorance, apathy, and arrogance, ignore these financial laws and suffer in consequence. 2017, however, is a new year, a year to erase past failures and replace them with future victories. This can be achieved through the Financial Fitness Program, the greatest financial game-changer on the market! But before I get ahead of myself, let’s examine the Financial Matrix quadrants to determine where the reader resides currently to ensure we develop the best personalized plan for the future.

Let’s start with the Broke quadrant, the one where people play neither Defense nor Offense. Disastrously, over 50% of households in the USA fall into this quadrant, service debts higher than current incomes and thus falling further and further behind every year. Moreover, they have little Offensive wherewithal to expand incomes and thus are stuck in a situation where they have more outgo than income with little hope of changing it.  The 45 Year Plan for the Broke group, those who have no net worth (assets minus debts), displays expenses higher than incomes and debt loads increasing until they are rejected for further loans (debt maxes out around 3 to 5 times total household income). Needless to say, this is the worst spot in the Financial Matrix, because it maximizes debts and minimizes dreams. The Broke quadrant pays the price for revolving interest, penalty fees, and stress because they lack financial literacy. They live lives of quiet desperation with no assets, massive debt, and little hope to change unless they can access new information and inspiration. The most common expression one hears from the Broke quadrant is, “I owe; I owe; it’s off to work I go,” while the most common attitude is hopelessness because they see no way out of the Financial Matrix.

The Tightwad quadrant, on the other hand, plays Defense (expenses below incomes with decreasing debts), but doesn’t play Offense (little ability to increase incomes). The 45 Year Plan for Tightwads shows expenses under incomes with little debt to service.  Although debt free (or at least progressing towards debt freedom), they only accomplish this by reducing their dreams. This is why most people HATE to talk about finances because they believe it’s just a plan to budget someone out of their dreams. While nothing could be further from the truth in the Financial Fitness Program, to be fair, this is where most financial gurus live. They spend hours talking about how to reduce debt and very little discussing how to increase incomes. As a result, most people do not follow apply Defensive principles because to do so results in them giving up their dreams to be out of debt.  While this, to be sure, is better than remaining in the Broke quadrant, this Financial gurus are only teaching half the story, at best.  For when a person surrenders his dream, a dream that drives his personal growth, he has thrown the baby out with the bath water. Sure, being debt free is a good, but the biggest enemy of great is good and I refuse to sacrifice the great on the altar of the financial gurus good! Why settle for debt-free without dreams when one can learn how to live dreams debt-free. The most common expression in the Tightwad quadrant is, “No thank you. We cannot afford this.” Naturally, after years of self-denial with little to show for it, the most common attitude that results is bitterness, a bitterness caused by repeatedly saying “no” to their dreams.

The Status quadrant, in contrast, plays no Defense (debts increase as fast as incomes), but has an impressive Offense (incomes capable of servicing all debts). The 45 Year Plan for this group displays both incomes and debts increasing. Because they have a solid Offense, but not a corresponding Defense, the total debt loads continue to increase (usually two to five times total income). To be sure, they have enough income to stay ahead of expenses, but only so long as they continue to perform at the top of their game. This group believes it can live their dreams, expand their debts, and live the good life. However, there is a major downside to living in the Status quadrant, namely, the inherent risk that something outside one’s control may occur. Similar to a bobber floating on top of the water, just one financial tug (job loss or health challenge) can lead to the household going underwater financially. After all, if someone lives at his debt limit, he runs the risk of financial catastrophe if the Offense is interrupted unexpectedly while the debt continues to compound expectedly. Debt, to the Status group, appears to be gold – they live their dreams while servicing their debt. But in reality, it’s a golden handcuff that tightens around its unsuspecting victim. Over time, the Status group realizes they are stuck on the financial gerbil wheel, running with everything they have, without the ability to jump off. The most common expression in the Status quadrant is, “Let’s buy it now because we can afford the monthly payments.” The danger, of course, is this commonly leads to arrogance, for when a person shows it all and owes it all, if he’s not careful, he can tend to believe he knows it all.

Unfortunately, by the time the Status quadrant realizes the errors in their strategy, it’s usually too late. Once the Offense loses some of its muster, it doesn’t take long for the Status household to start missing debt payments.  Ironically, the group learning the most from the failures of the Status households is the auctioneers, who sell off the remaining assets of financially ruined families. As noted in The Millionaire Next Door, auctioneers are the profession with the highest percentage of millionaires, probably because they see and feel the pain of the families who have lost everything by playing Offense and ignoring Defense. This lesson reveals the insecurity inherent within the Status quadrant, a quadrant that believes it can outrun debt forever.  As a result, most of the Status quadrant is one economic downturn away from bankruptcy. Debt is omnipresent and compounding continuously against the household; thus, it should not be played with for similar to fire, if you play with it, you will eventually get burned.

The final quadrant, the one everyone should aspire to join, is the Financial Free quadrant. This group plays both Defense (expenses below incomes with decreasing debts) and Offense (increasing incomes). The 45 year plan for this group displays expense remaining fairly constant while the incomes consistently grow.  Debt decreases annually until it is eventually eliminated by the difference between incomes and expenses being used to wipe out the household’s debt cancer. The Financially Free group sacrifices in the short-term by living below their means and wiping out debt so they can live their dreams debt free!  This quadrant is the most secure financially because they own assets and live their dreams debt free. This gives them great strength when financial setbacks do occur because they owe no one anything. Instead of reducing their dreams to pay off debt, they increase the size of their dreams without falling into debt; rather, they use dreams to drive personal improvement (Offense) and use the increased income to pay off debt even faster. In other words, increased dreams and decreased debts. This is the Financially Free lifestyle. The most common expression for Financially Free people is, “Let’s sleep on it first. Then, if we truly want it, let’s set an Offensive goal to achieve it.”  Not surprisingly, the common attitude of this group is thankfulness because they realize they have been blessed by following certain financial principles and aim pay that blessing forward into other’s lives.

Laurie and I dreamed to escape the Financial Matrix and now dream of helping millions more do the same. The Bible teaches, “The borrower is slave to the lender,” indicating a person in debt is in bondage. If someone loves his bondage, then I am not here to argue him out of it. However, if someone recognized himself in one of the above sub-optimized quadrants and desires to live Financially Free by escaping the Financial Matrix, then he needs to get the Green Box (The Financial Fitness Pack). If a person is already Financially Free, then I ask you to get the Green Box and help me help others by teaching these financial principles to the world. In the Green Box, the person will learn the Defense, the Offense, and the pathway out of the Financial Matrix playing field. Further, he can plug into a community of winners to be held accountable to the proper financial principles, playing Defense and Offense, and referring others to do similarly.

In closing, the beginning of all breakthroughs starts the moment a person realizes the road he’s been on will not take him to the destination he desires. This was true for Laurie and me, as we lived in all three sub-optimized quadrants seeking to escape the Financial Matrix. It’s now 2017 and last year’s successes and failures are history. Now it’s time to start this year with momentum.  If a person truly wants to live the life he’s always wanted, perhaps it’s time to address the issues you’ve always avoided.

Quality Time, Acts of Service, Gifts, Physical Touch, and Words of Affirmation.

For Stephanie and I (Alex), this book has helped us tremendously. Basically;  whenever you are not intentionally speaking the love language of the other person, it is like speaking German to a person who speaks Mandarin.

My love languages are Quality Time and Words of Affirmation and Stephanie’s love languages are Quality Time and Physical Touch. By not reading the book first, I did not initially understand that within our Quality Time love languages, there were different dialects. After reading the book I began to understand why my version of Quality Time was different than hers and how I could understand what her needs were and meet them. She wanted Quality Conversations during our Quality Time and I just wanted to be together. By being intentional and both of us being open and communicating, we began to understand how we are different.

We all have a love tank and we both ask each other all the time how we can fill it.

While I was at work on the road, I deprived Stephanie of both of her love languages because they both basically require my presence. We found ways to connect and spend quality time together. She made a list of 10 things that would help her feel more loved and I did everything I could to check off things on that list. Some of the things were uncomfortable for me, BUT GUESS WHAT!!?!! IT WAS WORTH IT because I value our relationship. It is so powerful when both partners die to self.  I encourage everyone reading this to learn more and to also share this with others. How many people do you hear complain about their relationships? This is proven to work!!

We encourage you to open the lines of communication up together and also make your top 10 lists of things that could make you feel loved.

Together, we have 5 kids. 16, 12, 9, 8, and 7. Each kid has a unique personality and they all have their own love language. This quiz and these books have helped us understand the most effective ways to make our children feel loved. When our children’s love tanks are full their behavior is better, they are more cooperative and productive and they are more loving to others.

 

We can get a whole movement of people with full love tanks and make this a much better world! Can you picture this vision where everyone is thinking about others and doing things to help others more often and that just becoming an endless cycle?

123“…..But there is an even deeper issue than our question. What else is it we are seeking from the Woman with the Golden Hair? What is that ache we are trying to assuage with her? Mercy, comfort, beauty, ecstasy —in a word,  God. I’m serious. What we are looking for is God.

There was a time when Adam drank deeply from the source of all Love. He -our first father and archetype – lived in an unbroken communion with the most captivating, the most beautiful, and intoxicating Source of life in the universe. Adam had God. True, it was not good for man to be alone, and God in his humility gave us Eve, allowed us to need her as well. But something happened at the Fall, something shifted. Eve took the place of God in man’s life. Let me explain.

Adam was not deceived by the serpent. Paul makes it clear in 1 Timothy 2:14 – Adam did not fall because he was deceived His sin was different, in some ways, it was more serious in that he did it with open eyes. We do not know how long it lasted, but there was a moment in Eden when Eve was fallen and Adam was not, she had eaten, but he yet had a choice. I believe something took place in his heart that went like this: I have lost my ezer kenedgo, my soul mate, my most vital companion I’ve known. I do not know what life will be like, but I know I cannot live without her.

If you think I exaggerate, simply look around. Look at all the art, poetry, music, drama, devoted to the beautiful woman. Listen to the language men use to describe her. Watch the powerful obsession at work. What else can this be but worship?  Men come into the world without the God who was our deepest joy, our ecstasy. Aching for we know not what, we meet Eve’s daughters and we are history! She is the closest thing we’ve ever encountered, the pinnacle of creation, the very embodiment of God’s beauty and mystery and tenderness and allure. And what goes out to her is not just our longing for Eve, but our longing for God as well. A man without his true love, his life, his God, will find another. What better substitute than Eve’s daughters? Nothing else in creation even comes close…”

It’s possible that you can can think of many things you do, as victories.

You’re alive!

Albert Einstein made the statement

                  “You can view everything as a miracle, or nothing as a miracle.”
What are the small things you can be faithful in or positive habits that you can create, that will help you develop even more personal strength? What are some habits that you can let go of? Some things to think over and make a list of – here are some possible suggestions:
  • Can you pray for a few moments or more today?
  • Can you read a few lines or more in the Bible today?
  • Can you spend an hour, uninterrupted with your spouse and or children?
  • Can you call an old friend today?
  • Can you refrain from eating that junk food?
  • Can you do a 60 second plank right now?
  • Can you pick up a good book for 15 minutes today?
  • Can you choose to turn the tv off, log off facebook, put your phone down?

What else can you think of?
Write out your list of things you can do to make habits that will lead to better results.
